Surabaya Sprint, Bali Detour: Photoshoots, Cheap Movies, and a Delayed Flight From the Underworld
7:46 AMIf you’re asking where I disappeared to this week: Surabaya. Saw friends, touched grass, remembered I’m an extrovert with a battery life. (lies)
Then Mrs. Lord (aka my mother) landed in Indonesia, so I had to book a Bali ticket ASAP. Prices were high, I bought the lowest fare (still expensive), and my wallet filed for compensation.
Siola Photoshoot: Lights, Panic, Action
Met Cece, Koko, and Golden Girl at Siola for a mini shoot. I picked the lighting (me, a professional flashlight). It was fun and also embarrassing (do not ask). Seeing them = peak serotonin.
Café Hopping on a Broke Budget
Tried Surabaya cafés and realized I am financially allergic to cute pastries after buying flights + random snacks.
Solution: watch Suicide Squad in Surabaya because it’s cheaper and I can afford more popcorn. Economics.
Nine-Years-Later Reunion
Met a longtime friend I hadn’t seen in 9 years. We speed-ran nine seasons of life in one sitting. I missed her.
Verdict: A good 3-day holiday. Then the plot twist.
Flight Delay From the Underworld
Today: sat on the plane for 2+ hours. Delayed.
Phone froze. Had to cancel a friend meet.
Seat neighbor vomited four times.
Weather was oven mode. My patience melted.
Was it the worst day? Surprisingly, no. Exhibit A: the bright sides.
My Four Tiny Joys
- Two Beard Papa éclairs for lunch. My coping mechanism is cream-filled.
- Yelled at Siri for not understanding my Bahasa-accent English. Comedy for one.
- Counted how many times my neighbor threw up. (Who am I.)
- Rescheduled the friend meet for tomorrow. Manifesting: better vibes.
I’m not going to spiral just because today was extra. I’m typing this on the way home, hunting random Wi-Fi like a street raccoon, and choosing to call it character development.
Wishing I won’t get crazy just because today is just too
much for me. And of course, I hope tomorrow will get better again
And blabbing too much is not really good after all. Just
wanna tell you what happens! Oh and of course I wrote this on my way home,
searching for random wifi lol
