Windy, Hot, and Caffeinated: Bali Weeknotes from Starbucks + Ayam Geprek Lunch

5:57 PM

Hi.

This is my weekly-not-so-important broadcast from Starbucks because the weather outside says windy, but my skin says oven.

Campus update (blink and you’ll miss it)

I’m doing student study service (KKN vibes) in a Bali village soon—community service but with extra mosquitoes and character development. I’ll report back when my soul returns.

Weather report: 28°C pretending to be 33°C

Bali is gusty—kids are flying kites; I am flying to the nearest AC.
When I ride my motorcycle, crosswinds try to yeet me off the road. PSA for lightweight humans: do not become paper.

Starbucks survival kit

  • Seat + AC + caffeine = moral stability.

  • I’m journaling, pretending to study, and absolutely not checking the same thesis three times.

Lunch: Ayam Geprek at Last (Rp22k)

They were closed during holiday weeks, now they’re open and I’m alive.

Set (Rp 22.000):

  • Nasi merah (red rice)

  • Ayam geprek (sambal-smashed fried chicken)

  • Soup

  • (Drink excluded)

Portion & price notes

  • Drinks typically have a Rp 2–3k gap between small vs big (e.g., tea Rp 3k small, Rp 5k big).

  • If you’re heat-sensitive, ask for less chili or request sambal on the side. (I won’t, but you can.)

Taste check (speed run)

  • Crispy + spicy in the right ratio; red rice keeps it less guilty (placebo, let me be).

Vibe of the day

Exhausted but caffeinated. Windy but hot. Productive but lying. If you need me, I’m in Starbucks negotiating boundaries with the AC.
