Mie Kober Bali
5:31 PMI finally braved the crowdead line at the infamous spicy noodle place on Jl. Bedugul No. 37, Denpasar (near Undiknas). Every day looks like a chili convention out front—and for good reason: Indonesians don’t just like spicy; we like end-credits spicy.
How the queue works (so you don’t stand outside confused)
You order and pay outside first. Only then you go in and wait for the food. Efficient for the kitchen, chaotic for my patience.

The menu fight: Mie Setan vs. Mie Iblis
Mie Setan (pure chili chaos)
-
Lv1: 12 chilies
-
Lv2: 25 chilies
-
Lv3: 35 chilies
-
Lv4: 45 chilies
-
Lv5: 60 chilies
Mie Iblis (sweet soy + chili balance)
-
S: 5 chilies
-
M: 10 chilies
-
L: 15 chilies
What I ordered (prices I paid)
🍜 Mie Iblis (M) — Rp 10.000
For me: not too spicy, sweet-savory, still a kick. For my friend (spice-sensitive): a small emergency. Order to your tolerance.
🥟 Siomay — Rp 9.000
Standard comfort bite to reset your tongue between decisions.
🧋 Es Pocong — Rp 9.500
Why the ghost name? Brand commitment: Setan/Iblis/Pocong. Cute. Sweet and cold, but doesn’t cancel the chili. Still worth it.

Wait time & vibe
I waited about ~20 minutes (crowded). Good for spicy cravings, not ideal if you’re frickin’ starving right now.
Pros & cons (quick scan)
Pros

-
🌶️ Clear chili levels for both masochists and mortals
-
🍜 Mie Iblis balances sweet soy + heat nicely
-
👻 Fun, ghosty drink names (hello, Es Pocong)
Cons
-
⏳ Queue + pay-outside can be confusing at first

🥵 High levels can taste bitter if you push beyond your limit
-
🪑 Crowded, typical wait ~20 min
Tips to win your bowl
-
New here? Start with Mie Iblis S or M (5–10 chilies). Live to brag another day.
-
If you insist on Mie Setan, don’t jump straight to Lv4–5 unless your stomach has a loyalty card.
-
Get siomay or another side to pace the heat.
-
Sweet drinks won’t save you; bring tissues and dignity.
