I’m sorry for posting slowly—consider this my diary experiment. 
Maybe no one reads it; maybe future me does. Either way, hi.

Vibe check: pessimistic but trying

New year, messy month. A lot happened at once; I felt sad/angry/confused and alone (which is human, I guess). Last year I ran out of positive vibes entirely; this year I’m practicing even when it squeaks.

Where am I?



Surabaya. I went to the LPDP Surabaya Edufair on Thursday. Didn’t do much else because breakouts + allergy turned me into a houseplant. I’m bad at concealing acne, so I decided to be unsociable with dignity.



Partner in crime: Belbie

We’re opposites: she’s a talker, I’m quiet.



But lately she’s turned me chatty. We literally talked from morning to night. Character development via voice notes.






Also: I did something to my hair and it looked neat for one hour. Then gravity won.

Grand Lucky: where wallets go to scream (happily)

Price shock of the week: my BBQ sauce that costs ~Rp60k at Papaya was ~Rp30k at Grand Lucky.

Bread = good;
imported snacks = dangerous; 

I even became a member (photo on card is… unedited, so no).

Mini haul notes

  • Stock up on pantry basics here; the gaps are dramatic.

  • Bring a list; aisles will flirt with you.

Natya Hotel: Pasar Grill Saturday (AYCE)

After shopping we hit Pasar Grill at Natya Hotel (usually on Saturdays).
Price: about Rp50k.
Menu mood: grilled fish & chicken, simple ice, noodles (shockingly good).
For that price, it’s a yes.

Jl. Nangka coffee stop: tiny, friendly, crowded


Found a small coffee shop near my grandma’s crowded but the barista was sweet. 







I ordered the infamous “pot ice cream”: looks like soil + worms in a flower vase, tastes like chocolate ice cream + jelly, topped with surprise strawberries. 

My brain said “why,” my mouth said “again.”

Saturday night verdict

Wonderful. Also too much eating. So I will, of course, plan a diet soon (theater).
