End-of-Year Check-In: Blessed, Sniffly, and Still Confused About “At/On/In”
1:07 AMGuys,
I’m not here to say my life is awful. This year blessed me. Loudly, messily. Lots of upside-downs; I cried, laughed, and got confused simultaneously, which I think is adulthood’s official skill set.
My English? Did not level up. I’m still fighting the boss battle of at/on/in. Considering French next year just to betray them all.
I’ve been sick since November. Nothing dramatic, just the kind of flu-fever loop that makes going outside feel like a side quest. So I stayed close to friends and family in Bali (I moved, hi), drank warm things, and practiced gratitude with tissue in my nose.
Today’s weather report: the sun punches at noon, rain suplexes at 3 p.m. I’m typing this with a crumpled tissue and a heroic sneeze. If you hear a short girl sneezing in public: it might be me trying to look cute.
Unfortunately, typing cute ≠ becoming cute. Science has spoken.
Anyway~
Yes, it’s still me.
Yes, it’s almost the end of December.
Somehow we made it.
Mini Life Notes:
- Moved to Bali. Learned that humidity has opinions.
- Health: Flu’s on repeat but I’m okay. Remember water and naps.
- People: More time with friends & family; 10/10 recommend.
- Language: If “at/on/in” asks, I’m not home.
- Gentle public service announcement. (from your sneezy narrator)
- Wear a mask on windy/rainy days.
- Carry tissues that don’t sandpaper your nose.
- Tea > pride.
