Pre–New Year Dinner at Ultimo Seminyak (aka “we swore we’d do K-BBQ… and didn’t”)
12:46 PMI’m usually a serial repeater: once I like a place, I just keep going back.
But Bali is overflowing with hangout spots, so I’m pushing myself to try new ones.
If I get lost, I’ll just circle back to my first love later. #randomquotes #idontcare
We planned all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ for my friend’s birthday… then remembered we’d already had a heroic breakfast and lunch. I’m a heavy eater, not a bottomless pit. So: plan B.

Ultimo, Seminyak
We ended up at Ultimo (Seminyak). Lighting = romance, not photography, so forgive my ISO struggle. While we waited, they brought warm bread and grissini—dangerous because I will absolutely fill up on carbs before the mains.
What we ordered

- Ravioli - soft pillows, saucy and comforting.
- Grilled dory - clean, lemony, simple.
- Steak - classic date-night move, cooked right.
- The mystery “cordon bleu-ish” thing - crispy outside, cheesy inside, also known as “I forgot the menu name.”
Damage
- Expect around IDR 60k-200k for mains.
- Budget ~IDR 150k per person if you’re doing a main + drink.
- We spent IDR 470k for 3 people (no wine, we were on our best behavior lol).
Quick takes
- Cozy, busy, very Seminyak.
- Bread service is generous (hide it from me).
- Good for birthdays, dates, visiting friends who “want Italian.”
- Make a reservation on weekends; walk-ins get waitlisted.
Merry (belated) Christmas and happy new year, you lovely carb enthusiasts.
New year, new restaurants… same me. 😌
