Airport Run, Fake-Spicy Chicken, and Beard Papa Before 10: A Surabaya Escape Log
7:40 PMMy assignment is my boyfriend: clingy, high-maintenance, doesn’t listen.
I left him on read and booked a two-day errand in Surabaya. Call it avoidance with receipts.
Before the airport, I did what any emotionally responsible young adult would do:
chase spice.

Ayam Geprek (Expectations vs. Stove Reality)
Ordered level 4 chilies (last time level 2 tried to end me). Today? Not spicy.
Different cook, different fate. The service was sweet, so I didn’t go full Yelp gremlin—just ate my feelings and called it research failure.
Note to self: if the burn doesn’t arrive, neither do I.
Beard Papa: The Real Reunion
I interrogated the staff like a polite detective: “What time do you close?”
Answer: before 10 PM. Translation: run now.
Secured two green tea cream puffs (IDR 18k each) because self-care sometimes wears powdered sugar. ❤
Body Status: No Comment (Comment)

Headache, nausea, the glamor of almost-vomit. Hair long enough to audition for “airport cryptid.” I look like a loved bum. By me, on a good day.
Flight O’Clock
Gate’s calling, mascara’s optional. Surabaya first, guilt later. My boyfriend (assignment) will still be there when I get back; he always is. That’s the problem.
See you in Surabaya,
ikkeru

I love finding Beard Papa's when I travel, green tea is my favourite flavour, even though I'm not a big fan of cream puffs, the shop logo is just too cute to ignore lol
