Myoung Ga, 안녕! Korean fever, Surabaya edition🔥

Lately everything is Korea: TV = Running Man, music = K-Pop, style = oppa-core… so obviously dinner had to be Korean too. Enter Myoung Ga.

First impression: low-key famous, cozy, and it does feel a bit like stepping into a K-drama set (minus the chaebol boyfriend).

What we ate

Jajangmyeon IDR 100k

Massive bowl; savory (not sweet), glossy black bean sauce. I was ready for soy overload, but it was balanced and slurpy in the best way.

Tteokbokki IDR 150k

Also huge. Chewy rice cakes, spicy-comfort energy. I missed this so much I accidentally summoned half my family to help finish it.

Sips + sides

“Ocha” (yes, they call it that) – free & refillable. Bless.

Rice (Gong Gi Bab) – IDR 20k (spendy for rice, but okay).

Banchan: generous and varied; seems to rotate.

My friends once got chocolate(?!); I didn’t, but still scored a fun spread.

Damage

About IDR 352k including 10% tax + a super fresh Kiwi juice. Portions are XXL share or suffer.

Bonus cuteness

They handed out cotton candy at the end. Met ワタメちゃん (Mr./Ms. Cotton Candy)…and then promptly ate them. Rip, sweet friend.

Verdict: Pricey-ish for Surabaya, but portions + banchan + vibes make it a solid “K-craving” fix.
