I'm eating well at eatwell Seminyak today, HBU?

Friends wouldn’t stop name-dropping Eatwell, so I went to see if the hype could bench-press my appetite.

It’s in Seminyak (on your right if you’re coming from Kuta), smaller than the glossy photos I remembered from TripAdvisor 2012, because time exists, apparently.

When to go (so you don’t spiral in a queue)

Crowd curve: calmish early evening → splendidly crowded after 8 PM.

Move: if it’s a holiday week, reserve. The room isn’t huge.

Vibe: simple, not fussy. Come for the meat, not the chandeliers.

What Eatwell is good at

They’re known for big-portion, juicy steaks at friendlier prices than you expect for Seminyak

(roughly Rp50k–Rp180k depending on cut).

There’s beef, pork, chicken; even burgers and sandwiches.

Pro tip: if you’re lost, ask the staff for the chef’s recommendation.

They’re chatty in a helpful way.

What I ordered (prices I paid; +10% tax +5% service)

🥪 Beef Sandwich IDR 50.000 (from the breakfast menu… at night)

Turns out breakfast items are available all day. Chose ciabatta (you can pick baguette/ciabatta/white). Beef was properly juicy; the kind of “oh, hello” bite that makes you forget your camera for a second.

🍗 Grilled Chicken IDR 65.000

Large portion. You can swap fries for potato gratin or mash (sides are ~Rp15k à la carte). Tasty and safe.

But if you’re here, the pork or beef is the main story.

(I’m coming back for the pork chop, the internet’s favorite child.)

Why dinner > lunch here

The meat fridge near the window shows off bright, fresh cuts, confidence-boosting.

Portions are big, so a late dinner means you can roll home and hibernate without pretending you’ll work after.

Pros & cons (speed run)

Pros

💸 Surprisingly reasonable for Seminyak

👨‍🍳 Friendly staff; easy to get recommendations

Cons

🪑 Small space → can feel packed after 8 PM
🐔 Grilled chicken is fine, but red meat steals the show
⏳ Peak times = waitlist (reserve if you hate people-watching)

Bill for two

We spent about Rp 200.000 for 2 people, including 10% tax + 5% service.

Wallet content: not tragic. Stomach content: victorious.
