[Review] Etude Color My Brows: First Impressions (by a ramen girl in a brow era)

6:25 PM

Someone once said “be a proper woman and happiness will find you.”

I said “okay but can she eat?”

Anyway, this week I tried Etude Color My Brows because:
(1) Korean girls’ brows are unfairly cute and,
(2) pencils scare me.

Mascara-for-brows = simple.

What it is

A tinted brow gel/mascara that adds color and soft hold. Mine is in [your shade here: Light Brown/Red Brown/Dark Brown].

Why I grabbed it

I’m not a pro with brow pencils, so a quick swipe product felt safer than freehand drawing two identical siblings (they’re cousins and it’s fine).

How I apply (two looks)

  • Natural day brow: Wipe excess off the wand, brush against hair growth lightly to coat, then brush with growth to smooth. Finish by pressing with a clean spoolie.
  • Bold-but-not-Shinchan: Don’t wipe as much; focus on the tail and sparse areas. Keep the front 1/3 super light.

Before/After
  • Left: with gel (softly fuller, tidier).
  • Right: bare (still cute, just sleepy).
  • Tip: If you have very sparse tails, sketch a few pencil strokes first, then set with this.

Wear test

  • Finish: Softly tinted, not crunchy.
  • Hold: Light–medium (keeps hair direction, won’t freeze unruly wiry hairs).
  • Longevity: 6–8 hours on me; survives sweat/ochas, not a full face-wash.
  • Removal: Micellar or balm cleanser, easy.

Pros

Quick, beginner-friendly; hard to overdo if you wipe the wand.

Natural tint that evens out patchy areas.

Water-resistant; lasts through errands and noodles.

Cons

Works best on some brow hair; very sparse brows may still need pencil underneath.

Formula can thicken over time: close tightly and don’t pump the wand.

Who will love it

Newbies, lazy girls, and “5 minutes then out the door” people.

Anyone who wants soft definition vs. super-snatched, laminated vibes.

Verdict

8.5/10. Fast, cute, and makes me look slightly more awake without betraying my Indonesian face card.

Etude is easy to find in Indonesia (I bought mine at Etude Kuta).
I’ll still write about food, but now my brows won’t look like they ate first.
