Being chef, does it hard? trying Allure esprecielo greentea latte
8:39 AMMs. Hills is heading back to Surabaya (😭). I still have three weeks of holiday and approximately zero humans to kidnap for hangouts.
Balinese friends?
Busy.
Me?
Also “busy”
… auditioning for new friends. T^T
So the night before she left, we did the logical thing: cooked a farewell dinner. She’s a legit good cook; I’m a feral gremlin with a knife.
Cooking class, chaos edition
\
I spent nearly one hour just cutting ingredients. Chefs do this in 0.5 seconds on TV: witchcraft.
Ms. Hills patiently bossed me around (chef energy), which is why anything got edible.
Waiting for food as a heavy eater? Torture. My stomach wrote a complaint letter.

The menu (and the mayhem)
- I have my own business, searching any other friends to hang out T^T
- Pork ribs + mashed potato: came out legit (thanks to Chef Hills).
- Tiramisu: I contributed ~80% of the chaos.
- Decor by Ms. Hills’ little sister (4th grade!) who has more plating talent than my entire adult life.
Conclusion: I will not make it into MasterChef, but Masterjunk is accepting applications.
Lessons learned
Good food = technique + patience.
I currently have… enthusiasm.
Restaurants are popular because people like me exist.
The “wine” party
We lined up bottles, got the glasses out…
And I poured syrup into mine because I’m a certified coward. 😂
Actual wine (for adults in the room): ~IDR 140++ a bottle.

Fancy packet “latte” review: Allure Matcha Latte
We also tried Allure drinks from the minimart (Denpasar): packaging so fancy I had to keep photographing it like a runway model.
Expectations: latte art at home
Reality: you need a steam wand (Mastrena/La Marzocco). Powder + milk ≠ art, bestie.

So, How was the taste?
More creamy milk than green tea. If you love creamy, okay. If you want bold matcha, kurang nendang.
Ms. Hills says the Caramel Macchiato flavor is nice.
Smells good, mixes easily, hot or iced.
Price & where: ~IDR 10 at minimart; saw Matcha Latte and Caramel Macchiato. Great for “too lazy to go to a café” days.

Soft ending, big thanks
I wanted to make this night special (and edible). We laughed, cooked, “wined,” and I learned how not to bully potatoes. Thank you, Ms. Hills, for teaching me and for not firing me from your kitchen.
If anyone needs a sous-chef who specializes in stirring and moral support, call me. I come with my own apron and zero knife skills.
Have a good day!
