Fresh bakes, pretty cakes, dangerously cozy vibes

I took these photos back in December - a.k.a Bali’s “Christmas tree but zero carols” season. Even without the full holiday chaos, I ended up having a lovely time… mostly because I finally made it to Livingstone. (Christmas last year)

First look

Opened in 2013, Livingstone runs on the motto “Fresh Baked Goods Every Day.” Think European-style pastry case, big sunny windows, lots of wood, and a touch of classy vintage. It’s the kind of place where you plan to “sit for fifteen minutes” and then suddenly it’s two hours later and you’ve adopted a croissant.

Hours start at 7:00 AM (!), so it’s perfect for breakfast people and latte-before-work people.

Coffee & Cakes

Cakes & sweets

Their display is a trap (in the best way). Favorites people rave about: Chocolate Mousse Cake, Crème Brulee Cheesecake, and Bitter Sweet Chocolate Dome.

I went with:

Mango Opera (IDR 30): bright, fruity layers; exactly as mango as it sounds.

Chocolate Mousse (IDR 30): classic, melty, dependable chocolate hug.

Caramel latte (IDR 35) arrived in a glass with a tiny biscuit and a cute latte art situation. Smooth, not too sweet. Easy to order a second “by accident.”

Choco Fallen Cake (IDR 65): flourless/low-flour, rich and dense, served warm with ice cream.

Delicious.

Just remember “gluten-friendlier” isn’t the same as “calorie-free.” 😉

(Still mad I forgot to try the watermelon bread. Next time!)

Savory bites

I’m a mains-over-desserts girl, so:

Meat Lover Pizza (IDR 75): crisp edges, generous toppings—easy share if you’re “just snacking” but end up not.

Breakfast options run from eggs benedict to sandwiches/burgers if you want something more substantial with your coffee.

Vibe check

Airy, spacious, relaxed playlist. Great for catching up with friends, solo laptop time, or pretending you’re the main character with a novel and a pot of tea. Staff were friendly without hovering. Restrooms are clean (yes, I tested the mirror selfie lighting… purely scientific).

Quick tips

  • Come early if you want a quiet corner or to beat the pastry rush.
  • Cake first, then mains (things sell out).
  • They do all-day pastry + proper lunch, so it works for mixed cravings.
  • Prices I paid already included service/tax at the register level.

The gist

Pretty bakes, solid coffee, and a space that makes lingering feel legal. If you’re choosing a Seminyak hangout where everyone: sweet tooths and savory souls leaves happy, Livingstone is an easy yes.

Have a delightful coffee, you all ☕️
