I finally made it, no FOMO, only sodium.
Went with friends, scanned every stall, and realized the theme was expensive with commitment issues. Variety? Sparse.
Still, there’s always one booth that saves the night.

What actually slapped
🟡 Hainanese Chicken Rice IDR 25.000 (MVP)
Clean broth perfume, tender chicken, rice that tasted like it knew the stock pot personally. Closest I’ve had (here) to Chinatown Singapore. Also the cheapest Hainan I’ve found in Indonesia.

Nasi Ayam Hainan “WR KEDIRI”

🍲 Tom Yum IDR 25 - 30k
Served in a small bowl, polite heat, not much to write poetry about.

🥟 Dimsum IDR 20.000
Fine, but I’d rather go to Dimsum Manan for better value.
🥞 Durian Pancake IDR 25.000 / 2 pcs
Durian lovers: approved. Everyone else: proceed with faith and a tissue.
Festival verdict
Curation: thin; not many “wow” moments.
Prices: higher than the mood.
Saves: Sushi Qombi sighting, all the durian things, and—again—the Hainan.
I closed the night at Starbucks with a Green Tea Opera: pretty, not too sweet, and immediately filed under “we diet tomorrow.” (Surabaya added +5 kg to the plot, thank you for your service.)

Also: discovered a selfie angle that doesn’t betray me. Growth!
Pros & cons (speed run)
